Hello.
The volume button/wheel is not in the panel. I uses to have it next to the powermanager icon but it is just gone.
I seached the forums but couldn't find anything to help with my problem.
How do I get the volume wheel in the panel?

rt-click the Panel -> Add New Items... Mixer -> Add

I tried that and its not the same. I want to be able to adjust the volume without having to open Mixer. Like a pop-up wheel thing.

Hello - not sure if this will help or not - but right now I have xfce4 running and there is a volume control doohickey there next to the power manager icon.
I see that I can start it with:
gnome-sound-applet
(I have gnome compatability enabled...)
-- Splats.

A longshot, but do you use snd-hda-intel?

Looks like I got it to work. Really stupid really. Added the mixer in the panel and when I hover the mouse over the icon I can use the mousewheel to adjust the volume. I tried to adjust it by clicking at it. Btw thanks for the help. The Arch Linux community is really helpfull.
