I was not sure if I should use the --force switch so I posted here. Pacman -Syuf worked fine without error. Marking as solved.
Doing force sys-upgrade is not smart: -Syuf bypasses checks for all packages.

You were explicitly told what command to use:
Install the package as follows:
pacman -S filesystem --force
+ an explanation why '--force', otherwise discouraged, is really needed this time.
