Re: [SOLVED] Galaxy Nexus MTP transfers

It is absolutely necessary to use adb when mtp simply doesn't work.

"adb" from Android SDK: absolutely yes.
"adb" from AUR: absolutely NO, sorry.

Have a look into the adb PKGBUILD. This package pulls the adb sources from a private git repository - how do we know they are not patched in some way? Compare them, file by file, against the Google sources, each time we install them?
That's the problem trusktr was talking about. Most people installing aafm will install this shady adb package without realizing that potential security hole, as it is a dependency for aafm. As a result, the malicious adb could silently pull anything off the internet and install it on their phones (and even on their desktop machine), as well as steal data an send it to the author. I personally don't care whoever that zhangn1985 is, he just can't be trusted at all.

I'm using jmtpfs from aur for syncing files with my nexus. It's like mtpfs, but without all the segfaults wink
