Additionally, a 406 Not Acceptable error was encountered while trying

I reported it already to Xyne via email on 2019-03-20, but it is still faulty until today and http://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/uno … yne-x86_64 still lists the non-working Server URL.

I found today this thread and tested the Server=http://xyne.archlinux.ca/bin/repo.php?file= URL, it does work, and I corrected the entry in http://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/uno … yne-x86_64.

Thanks for the Server=http://xyne.archlinux.ca/bin/repo.php?file= workaround!

Re: Xyne's repos: news and discussion

Just FYI, I have no control or say over the host's decision to filter file requests based on the .db extension, however stupid that decision may be. The repo.php-based URL should always work though.

Re: Xyne's repos: news and discussion

Following the recent repo errors due to the .db filters on xyne.archlinux.ca's .db, I was contacted by Bryan Gay, a.k.a. Linux Ninja, who kindly offered to set up and host a mirror. It's now up and you can find it here: https://xyne.mirrorrepo.com/repos/xyne
Update are pushed directly to both the main site and the mirror so they should remain in sync.

There is also a new package named xyne-mirrorlist which you can use to keep the repo URLs up-to-date and automatically fall back on the mirror if the main site is down. Updated instructions are available on the repo page: https://xyne.archlinux.ca/repos/

Thanks again, Bryan!

The current version of Aria2 doesn't support the latest version of TLS: https://unix.stackexchange.com/question … otocol-why

This will be fixed when Aria2 is updated to support TLS 1.3, which xyne.mirrorrepo.com uses.

Re: Xyne's repos: news and discussion

Getting this error as of today. Last night I could update my system just fine.

error: xyne-x86_64: signature from "Xyne. (key #3) <xyne@archlinux.ca>" is invalid
error: database 'xyne-x86_64' is not valid (invalid or corrupted database (PGP signature))

Re: Xyne's repos: news and discussion

I've just checked that both database signatures on the site are valid. Maybe there was an error in the download or maybe you upgraded while the repo was being uploaded. Try refreshing the databases. If "pacman -Syu" doesn't work, try "pacman -Syyu" to force a refresh.

Unfortunately not even a force refresh works..

Edit: nevermind, I am so used to powerpill I used it even when you meant to use pacman. Everything is fine now!

Re: Xyne's repos: news and discussion

Powerpill passes through the database refresh flags to pacman so that shouldn't have made a difference.

Re: Xyne's repos: news and discussion

Related to my previous posts, bauerbill updated (which i read about in the powerpill thread) and powerpill refused to update my system because of the same errors i got before.

error: xyne-x86_64: signature from "Xyne. (key #3) <xyne@archlinux.ca>" is invalid
error: database 'xyne-x86_64' is not valid (invalid or corrupted database (PGP signature))

however, then i did pacman -Syu and i could successfully update my system including bauerbill, even thought I still got the error about your key being invalid

error: xyne-x86_64: signature from "Xyne. (key #3) <xyne@archlinux.ca>" is invalid

Re: Xyne's repos: news and discussion

Hi, I got a similar issue as Raggerv8 above since about June 16th:

# pacman -Syu --ignore unison
error: xyne-x86_64: signature from "Xyne. (key #3) <xyne@archlinux.ca>" is invalid
...
2021-06-27 20:20:45 (170 KB/s) - '/var/lib/pacman/sync/xyne-x86_64.db.part' saved [53476/53476]

error: xyne-x86_64: signature from "Xyne. (key #3) <xyne@archlinux.ca>" is invalid
error: failed to synchronize all databases (invalid or corrupted database (PGP signature))

I tried (refreshing pacman's db each time)
- reinstalling pacman-keyring (dated 2021-06-16)
- import the key as per https://xyne.archlinux.ca/#signing-key
But to no avail. xyne would please you show me what I missed?

Re: Xyne's repos: news and discussion

I've double-checked the signatures currently on the server. Try forcing a refresh of the database and signature files with "pacman -Syyu". Otherwise post checksums from the downloaded signature and database files unser /var/lib/pacman/sync so that I can compare them.

Re: Xyne's repos: news and discussion

The archlinux.ca domain and the hosting that went with it are gone. The site is currently being migrated to a new domain which I will announce shortly. It can temporarily be found here: https://xyne.mirrorrepo.com/repos/

The new repo is up at what should be a new permanent address: https://xyne.dev/repos/

Re: Xyne's repos: news and discussion

My repo and packages are now signed with my new TU packaging key (D89FAAEB4CECAFD199A2F5E612C6F735F7A9A519). This key is included in the archlinux-keyring package and signed by most of the master keys so no changes should be required to validate the signatures.

Please update your AUR packages accordingly, right now validpgpkeys and the signature checksums are invalid
