Re: Ion3

Hi all,

Quick Ion3 question.

Anybody knows if it's possible to script Ion3 to send a scroll signal to a window, like MOD1 + j/k (vim style scroll)?

As you might have guessed, I want to scroll Firefox and other programs without having to move my hands to the arrow keys.

Cheers,

Nic

I can't help you do this in Ion, but check out this link.  http://www.redhat.com/archives/fedora-l … 03046.html
I've used it to enable vi scrolling in firefox that works regardless of the wm.

Re: Ion3

I just started using ion again. Is there a way to let only xterms spawn in the scratchpad? In my current setup all terminals get spawned in the scratchpad, but when I run mplayer for example from the terminal, the mplayer windows appears in the scratchpad, but I rather want it to spawn on my normal workspace below the scratchpad.

Thanks a lot! I wonder why those keys aren't standard. They aren't used for anything by default, right?

I could be nice to send the scroll signal through the WM, so I could perform my evil vim voodo in all programs wink

Cheers,

Nic

Have you looked at http://thegraveyard.org/daelstorm/ion3/ion3.html.

Most people don't reallly edit the configs, at least i don't, i just set some keybindings and the statusbar, oh and the theme.

You're welcome.  As far as I know, h/j/k/l do nothing in firefox so there shouldn't be a problem.

As far as doing this in a WM, I'm not sure that's possible.  How would the WM differentiate between a "j" to scroll and a "j" you typed in a terminal, for instance?

Use conkeror interface and do not move your hands away anymore. Sell your mouse in ebay

That is a pretty nice extension. Takes a little time to get used to, and I still can't find specifik documentation for VIM-mode.

Beside I noticed my adblock doesn't work when I'm in conkeror-mode ;/ I'll look into that tho.

Cheers,

Check to see if your "look" has transparency turned on.

Re: Ion3

Has anyone been able to build the latest darcs snapshot. I don't know if it's a darcs thing or the PKGBUILD I've used from AUR.

I think it's failing has something to do with libtu-3 and libextl-3.

How can I prevent ion3 from saving my session? Do I have to mess with permissions?
