iv597, that is beautiful!  Maybe I should give herbstluftwm a try!  Also, where'd you get your wallpaper?

Thanks, and I got it from wallbase.cc. I believe it was called something along the lines of "Abstract Planet"

Trying out herbstluftwm, with conky.  Configs are in my github (link in sig).

To my surprise, I'm enjoying the minimalism.  I'll probably try to get dzen2 to give me a tag list, but I'm not sure I actually need it.

from arch-wiki:

As of Awesome 3.1, there is built-in pseudo-transparency for wiboxes. To enable it, append 2 hexadecimal digits to the colors in your theme file (~/.config/awesome/themes/default, which is usually a copy of /usr/share/awesome/themes/default), like shown here:
bg_normal = #000000AA
where "AA" is the transparency value.

Shellshape. The 3.4 compatible version is mature enough for daily use.

Re: May 2012 Screenshots

Not too too much different this month, except i'm not using conky (for now). i made a new wallpaper (that matches my gtk/metacity theme) and added my tunuki-baby cartoon/logo to it smile

Gnome 3.4 / Compiz-bzr (0.9.8) / AWN

My theme is 'Blackbird'.

clean:

tZG84ZA

Dirty (just working on some patches / VST templates with Ladish):

tZG84ag

Compiz 0.9.8 is finally in a very stable state on my machine, after getting some bugs fixed (upstream) and homing in and tuning/tweaking CCSM... I'm glad that winreflect still works (unsupported plugin), as i love the blurry reflections from AWN (you can see my app's piano-keys reflecting).
