I tried your two packages, and I think they work. The very first time my X server crashed. I could not reproduce it (yet), so it may be something else. But otherwise, it seems to work. Just for testing I also installed the regulst sdl_perl - no conflict whatsoever. Great job !

Trying to install frozen-bubble, I get the following error:

My system is upto date via current sync.

there should be no perllocal.pods in packages. so you should find out which package owns the one that exists in your system and file a bug report then file a bug report about the package that has it in the frozen bubble depends.
other than that forcing (ugh) the installation with the -f option should work.
but please file the bug report first!!!
