Too I think that beopen is just asking how get the same operation mode than in other distro and thinking that surely he must not change fstab.
This may be true but the differences between the two make it a guessing game unless the OP looks into how Ubuntu actually does what he wants. That is, if the question were "in Ubuntu, function X is achieved using package Y and I'd like to do the same in Arch but I can't find package Y/have installed package Y and configured it according to the wiki but am still seeing... rather than..." it would be approachable. But how are we to say how to achieve what Ubuntu does if we don't use Ubuntu? That is, I'm sure we could search Ubuntu's online docs but the OP has the advantage of access to the system and can, presumably, search the online docs as well as we can.
Various ways of achieving mounting of partitions etc. have been suggested but the OP wants it done without... well, without something. I'm no longer quite sure what the question is.

I've removed consolekit package and I've had write a polkit config file as tell in:
https://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/Po … USB_drives
With this config the usb disappear when umounted (eject). And you must get out it and insert again the USB to the icon comeback to PCmanFM. Surely by this reason partitions in the same HD can't be seen.
The answer could be in this config file, perhaps exist the action to mount this partitions. Not sure. Surely, reading dbus docs is important.

As my native lenguage isn't English, I can't express myself very well. And more important, sometimes, understand it correctly. So I could be answering another thing than the real question.
I think the question is automount USBs and automount partitions in the same HD that system is (I can't test it) without edit fstab. I could be wrong.

And as idea from cfr post, could you copy polkit config files from Ubuntu to Arch and test it?

Because not all of us are native English speakers, try no to use slang or abbreviations, thank you.

FWIW you can try the desktop-privileges package from AUR. It included polkit rules for udisks{1,2} mounting and whatnot:
