Hello thanks for the hint! But I have a doubt do you mean you changed the pkg name to consolekit prior to installing with pacman -U? or did you change the name on the PKGBUILD?

I installed with yaourt and changed the lines package name and version in the PKGBUILD before it got built

Ok, thanks! trinity works great! I also have kde 4.10 from unstable, TDE only conflicts with filelight.

That's great - I certainly don't use filelight - may I ask which kdm you are running - tde or kde 4.10?

I use slim, but I've tested trinity kdm, also.
This are the steps I made in order to use it. (Notice I changed kdm to tdm to avoid conflicts!)
Make a "tdm.service" file in /usr/lib/systemd/system with this contents:
[Unit]
Description=Trinity Display Manager
After=systemd-user-sessions.service
[Service]
ExecStart=/opt/trinity/bin/kdm -nodaemon
[Install]
Alias=display-manager.service
Then finally:
sudo systemctl enable tdm.service
And finally reboot.
EDIT: If you have already made another DM your default, you'll have to, for example:
sudo systemctl disable kdm.service
before trying to enble tdm as default.

For the record, the recent update from libpng15 to libpng16 kills TDE (all the icons are missing)
Downgrading libpng breaks other things in Arc linux
Symlinking libpng16 as libpng15 doesn't work.
So I solved placing libpng15 side by side to libpng16, looks like this way nothing is broken and TDE is back to life.

from trinity mailinglist:
[trinity-users] 3.5.13.2 coming soon
there will be someone who will build TDE packages for archlinux?

When a new version of TDE is released you can ask someone to make a PKGBUILD file for it in AUR Issues, Discussion & PKGBUILD Requests.
I don't think many people are interested in using TDE on Arch Linux.
