Just out of curiosity, why do some people not use the "@" symbol on this forum ? I have not seen this elsewhere.

I've been thinking about added-value that can be done with this service, keeping in mind that I don't administer the server. I do however wonder how popular some of these ideas are.
I've already spoken with tredaelli about allowing an easy opt-in to subscribe to the arch mailing lists when creating the accounts, so that might happen.
Then yesterday I came across mod_auth_openid and I love it (I also put it in the AUR). Maybe I'll find problems with it shortly and go off using it, but it seems that if archlinux.info could be an openid provider, then people could very easily add authentication to their own web projects using their @archlinux.info email as the authenticator. There are libraries out there to help, but it's still not necessarily a small task. A little searching around and I think phpMyId might be the easiest one to set up, if you're going down the PHP road (which makes sense when you're using roundcube already).
Thoughts?

phpMyId is only for a single user. You might want to find another server: http://wiki.openid.net/w/page/12995226/ … y%20server
