Re: Problem installing nvidia drivers on 2007 macbook 3,1

Arch wiki article on NVIDIA Driver Installation says to use  nvidia-340xx and nvidia-340xx-libgl for the card on this model (if it's the same: GeForce 8600M GT).

As I am new to all this, I was a bit confused about nvidia/nouveau confliction resolution. Nouveau is what is automatically set up with a fresh Arch install, correct?

Does the following COMPLETELY remove all traces of nouveau?

pacman -Rdd nouveau nouveau-dri libgl

Are there modifications to boot or config file entries I need to make after installing nvidia-340xx drivers so that it takes?

Silly ultra newb question: if I get my "unbootable white screen of death" after another attempt, can i boot from the liveUSB and root in and remove the driver installation? If so, HOW? (that way I'm back to where i started without having to re-install AGAIN) I'm still wrapping my head around linux in general, and am just a little confused about where everything is going.

Thanks!
