Hehe..
Well I don't think these threads are stupid, but I'm not gonna put up any more screenshots - whenever I take one I get this funny urge of changing it all again, and I'm running short of good wallpapers/styles anyway.

But keep it up.

What dibble said - I'll add that he's probably using the XFCE composite manager.

Maybe you could write better one and submit it to rasat? I thought he made it clear before he is just learning gui languages.

As of the moment most graphical modules will be a combination of FvwmScript, Bash, and Xdialog.

Colors is not an issue at the moment, as me and rasat are currently rewriting the install interface. Colors will be set at the end, as me doesn't like graphical editing.....(and not everything is yet working as wanted)
The reason I post this screenshot is that we would like to have some comments on the main functioning of both modules (is it a clear interface, etc)

Thanks,

This is my enlightenment e16.8-cvs desktop.  The irssi theme is custom designed.  Conky is pretty liberally used.  mtail provides colorized logging.  The mail stats doodad is a perl script I wrote to parse my logfiles.  The overall theme is based on DAE, which can be found on freshmeat.

Wow... you got alot of stuff going on 8)  Could you describe the setup for the top and bottom "bars" there, I like it alot (I don't need the configs, just want to know the apps and things like that)

I see 'when' down at the bottom too, 8)

Answer to Penquin, the Quick Config Editor (QuickEdit) is different from ArchWD Editor. As the name says, its for quick configure. Its a great tool made by pressh. The ArchWD EDitor is for developing configs/packages.

With FvwmScript, with minor layout, the graph is not that "bad". The editor at the back is "Xdialog --editbox". In next release of QE, user can chose their own editor e.g. vim, gedit, etc.

ArchWD Editor at first stage will be in Prima (gui Perl). Later may change.

The top left bar is simply conky.  The top right is conky again, but running a small bash script to generate some subversion stats (I keep my home directory, configs, and source in svn).

I have my servers and a couple of other boxes send their syslog messages to my workstation.  I then have mtail colorize and scroll the logs.  The bottom right bar is a simple bash prompt, and next to it is that perl script I mentioned - which you guessed right - is spawned by when every minute or so.

The shaded bars is simply a trick with gimp.  I created a layer I simply slap on top of any backgrounds I use, and resave the image.[/url]

Re: November 2005 Arch Screenshots

Probably not best to crack open this one at work

Felt like a lighter style than what I usually have, so I've got Milk all round, shiny icons in my adesklets bar. The wallpaper I made by chopping up another, removed the ugly textured background and replaced it with a nice plain white one and put some shadow around the photo parts. As you might guess, this months theme is games! I have a lot of work I need to get done so I put my games easily accessible, when I don't have much to do I spend my time offering to work roll Please help me sad
