Re: XGL., anyone wanna join the ride?

WillySilly: That would be great! ;-) I unfortunately don't have too much time for making PKGBUILDs because of exams :-(

Wow, great! :-o How did you make it working? I am now working on the PKGBUILDs myself (I use latest Hanno's portage overlay as reference), but it will take some time...

Btw. which graphic card you have?

Did you used latest mesa-cvs? Because there were same changes related to Xgl yesterday, maybe it can help...

Re: XGL., anyone wanna join the ride?

Yeah, I'm using the latest mesa-cvs

Error:

make[3]: *** No rule to make target `s_fragprog_to_c.c', needed by `s_fragprog_to_c.lo'. Stop.

I'm going to be using a known 'good' snapshot of cvs so it should work. If everything goes good I'll have a PKGBUILD in an hour or so maybe

Re: XGL., anyone wanna join the ride?

WillySilly: And how did you resolve conflicts with other libGL.so, etc. files (for example from nVidia drivers)? I make it to install to /opt/mesa-cvs...

Re: XGL., anyone wanna join the ride?

I really hope this stuff gets wide adoption, I don't want there to be a two tier thing where Novell / SuSE has a gorgeous desktop that no one else can use.

Quite apart from anything else I don't want to run SuSE until it get some serious tidying up.  Any distro that feels the need to ship on DVD (or a stack of CD's) for the default install is a no-no in my eyes.

OK, rant over, I'll go back to patiently waiting for Xgl and Compiz.

Re: XGL., anyone wanna join the ride?

It's open and it will be integrated into Xorg 7.x, so yes, I believe it will be adopted in a lot of distros.
