The color and column additions are awesome Trilby. They really flare up the readout.

My friend recommended I follow the functionalist style so I changed the month and year variables into functions. This solved the original problem, which you solved as well in your script.

This has evolved greatly and so has my understanding. The input from everyone is extremely helpful.
