Re: Update broke sane

I would call this a sane bug, not an Arch bug. As I recall it has already been reported to the sane developers.

The "work around" is to downgrade to 1.0.23.

Re: Update broke sane

In Arch we don't work around things, we fix things. As such, the tpowa has just fixed the package by applying a patch.

Re: Update broke sane

Good news.
A fix has been applied recently to sane.
The new version of sane, ie 1.0.24-3 works perfectly.

Thank you to the maintainer.

Re: Update broke sane

I had a similar problem very recently - though with a plain old HP printer recently.  It was after various HP-related upgrades.  Forced me to remove and add the device again.  Seems fine after that.  I suspect that the upgrade altered something that was hard-coded in the automatically written .conf files that removing/replacing refreshed somehow.

So - maybe unrelated - but it may be worth a try.  remove and re-add the device.
