I'll risk the necro on this one since I believe OP's problem was solved long ago, but after just upgrading to 3.13.6-1 on my HP Envy (UEFI, gummiboot), booting into Arch results in a blank screen for about 3 minutes, after which time my HP simply boots into Windows 8.1.

Have attempted

nomodeset

and

i915.modeset=0

and changing

initramfs-linux.img

to

initramfs-linux-fallback.img

but all failed to help.

Will be rolling back kernel through chroot'ing USB here shortly.

Update
Rolling back according to the instructions on the Kernel Panics wiki to (first) 3.13.4-1 and (second) to 3.12.9-1 both failed to rid my HP Envy of the blank screen after selecting the Arch Linux entry from gummiboot, so I suspect that 3.13.6-1 may not be the sole cause (if even a cause at all) of my screen blanking
