I'll mark this thread as solved because libsm has been added in the dependencies of muffin in PKGBUILD (https://www.archlinux.org/packages/comm … 64/muffin/).

Indeed rebuilding muffin with "--enable-libsm" solves the delay at start. Sweet!
sorry if i resurrect a topic from the graveyard, but the problem seems to persist even with muffin 2.6.1-1. so i'm trying this solution, but i don't understand how to do it.
i copied the pkgbuild with abs, downloaded the source files (don't think this was neccessary, but anyway...), and now...?
when i try makepkg it gives me this:
[andrei@storm mufffin]$ makepkg -d
==> Making package: muffin 2.6.1-1 (Thu 5 Nov 01:11:42 CET 2015)
[...]
Makefile.am: installing './INSTALL'
src/Makefile.am:199: error: HAVE_INTROSPECTION does not appear in AM_CONDITIONAL
src/Makefile.am: installing './depcomp'
autoreconf: automake failed with exit status: 1
==> ERROR: A failure occurred in build().
Aborting...
and i have all the dependencies installed. how could it give me an error? when i install it with pacman it all goes right.
and, most important, where do i put the custom parameter "--enable-libsm" for rebuilding?
