This guide should be upgraded to use the network profiles. imho the profile system is much easier to use and understand than the past one.

As for the suggestion of sudo on the last page, meh. It's an overrated inconvenience, and everyone's paranoid On my system, my user doesnt need a password to su to root.

and a tip for the big big gdm config, try putting things like that on a web server, or on pastebin.com as it is kinda ot from this thread.
