To UPower:
The bug only appears with package version 0.99.0-2. I just downgraded to 0.99.0-1 and got battery information again.

ok updates arrived and cinnamon is working but the 10 second delay is still there.
Offline
That was fast :-) Thanks to everyone involved.
The 10 second delay is a separate issue: https://bugs.archlinux.org/task/39368

Yep, it's working now! I don't mind the startup delay myself, because I usually sleep my PC and reboots only after some crucial changes. But wow, finally menu's responsive and fast! I hope that stability issues are gone also (as it's specified on Segfault blog).

I can also confirm that the keyboard is working again. I can't say about the applet though. Is the power manager currently working for anyone?

This is upower related. See this quote:

As for the rest, that's my bug report closed then.
My keyboard works with version 2.2.3-1.

I'll have a look into this later. I have to study now (after spending most of today fixing stuff and building kernels )

Hello guys,
almost all afternoon I have been working in semioperational Cinnamon and in my soul I did know you manage to get it work again very soon, so I was pretty calm. Now, after a small update everything works fine for me (even the keyboard layout toggling which was not operational for months). Icon, graphics, OSD stuff, all is fine.
Thank you for a very good job!

Not for me though. I upgraded today, and I just installed the cinnamon-2.2.3-2 and I still get nothing. After mdm comes up and I login, cinnamon just won't start. Grey/blue screen, nothing else. I even tried 2D mode, but it still won't work.
mdm-log is clean. Journalctl is empty.
Something is still seriously wrong!!
Are there any other logfiles I can look at to figure out what's going on?

After the latest updates most stuff works again. Two things are still broken:
- as mentioned by others, upower battery info doesn't work
- every windows starts fully transparent (aka invisible) <-- does anyone else see this (and maybe found a solution already)?
This even seems to reset when the windows are closed/hidden, e.g. I open guake -> invisible, I change the opacity via shortcut key -> visible, I hide guake and show it again -> invisible

Does anyone notice that the XOrg process is taking very high CPU usage when in lock screen? In my case it is taking up to 50% when viewed in top. Cinnamon process is also taking higher than normal CPU usage when not under lock screen (about 10%), I think this is a very serious issue for laptops, as it consumes large amount of battery power when idle under lock screen.

Short update: I've made sure that X and mdm are functional. X seems to be OK, but if I load the "cinnamon-session-cinnamon" via .xinitrc and start the X server with "startx", I get a working cinnamon desktop.
If I login via mdm I still get nothing. I then tried to remove the /etc/mdm/custom.conf - still no login possible with mdm (grey screen). But at least I now know the broken package.
Can anybody confirm this? I'm using the package mdm-display-manager from AUR.
