I'm back on MDM again, using the pam.d workaround (removed gnome-keyring). It's worked with MDM in the past, and I've symlinked mdmflexiserver to gdmflexiserver already (I don't even think that's required anymore anyway).

It would be useful if the fixes from this thread are merged with the Cinnamon ArchWiki page.

I've added the power-manager problems, but I have no way to verify if the included patch works.

Oh, while I'm thinking on it, I applied @loqs' patch for Cinnamon Control Center to get power management to work and built it. You'll find the builds here.
Again, we must wait to see whether upstream will actually adopt it, instead of patching it on our end.

Not for me:

Neither do I see the battery icon, nor can I open power management settings. My system is fully up to date.

Hi, the power module in Cinnamon Settings (separate to the power applet in the panel) is managed by the cinnamon-control-center package. See my previous post or my pre-built packages for a patched version of cinnamon-control-center that works.
The power applet now works for me though.

And it does work! That is awesome! Thanks a lot.

Additional comments about closing: Patched power applet waiting for upstream fix
Seems as if the power module is still broken to and the closure was a confusion of the two issues?

Hmm... It seems so. Well, it was close to being closed as an upstream bug anyways. I've requested it to re-opened.

After recent updates I performed on the 16th of June, it seems that if I hibernate the the GUI is unresponsive after waking from hibernation and I have to CTRL+ALT+F2 to another tty and reboot the computer that way. The battery status is available, though.

@loqs: You'll be pleased to know it's been re-opened by City-Busz.
I did a build of cinnamon-control-center 2.2.10 and the Power Module in cinnamon-settings is still broken for me. Here are tester patched builds of cinnamon-control-center-2.2.10: https://drive.google.com/folderview?id= … e_web#list

Which packages did you update? You'll have to downgrade individual packages and then upgrade them to find the culprit. I don't remember any cinnamon packages being updated in the week up to June 22nd.

I had this problem too on two different laptops with Intel graphics. I fixed it by reverting to standard Intel UXA acceleration instead of SNA.
