Re: skype Segmentation fault (core dumped)

Sorry, it was a typo, I did move the right folder. Skype did start up, asked me for login (which means I am 100% sure I did move the right folder), showed me an empty chat history & started loading it. After 20-30 seconds it crashed and would not start again (with [1]  + 3671 abort      skype), until I deleted ~/.Skype again, then it crashed again exactly the same way.

After another full system update today skype seems to start up and run OK (still instantly crashes with my old ~/.Skype folder though, without showing any gui windows)

Contents of my today's upgrade with pacman -Suy, in case it helps someone:

 flac-1.3.0-3  i3-wm-4.8-3  lib32-libffi-3.1-1  lib32-mesa-10.2.2-1  lib32-systemd-214-1  mesa-10.2.2-1  nginx-1.6.0-5  php-5.5.14-1  php-apache-5.5.14-1  php-gd-5.5.14-1  php-mcrypt-5.5.14-1  php-pear-5.5.14-1 qt5-base-5.3.1-1  qt5-declarative-5.3.1-1  qt5-location-5.3.1-1  qt5-script-5.3.1-1  qt5-sensors-5.3.1-1  qt5-webkit-5.3.1-1  qt5-xmlpatterns-5.3.1-1  rsync-3.1.1-1  skype-4.3.0.37-3

(skype was downgraded)

Re: skype Segmentation fault (core dumped)

After some time Skype crashed again

But this advice from
http://community.skype.com/t5/Linux/Sky … true#M9248
seems to help. You'l need to adjust it if skype is localized

$ sqlite3 ~/.Skype/[username]/main.db
> UPDATE Messages SET body_xml=substr(body_xml,instr(body_xml,'<files')) WHERE type=68 AND body_xml LIKE 'posted%';
> .quit
