vurtun made a non ncurses version of this but the graphs never showed anything when I ran it so I played around with it a bit.
Current and max speeds are shown at top left of the graphs and the graphs run left to right.
It's here if you want to have a play with it

I've been playing around with my version of this.
It now supports 256 colours, colours for the graphs are set in the defines at the top of the c file.
This is a good reference for the 256 colours.
Stats can be turned off with the -q switch or toggled with the v key.
Both graphs work from the middle.
