After restoring the file to defaults, it works. But I would still like to have X startup on another tty (preferably tty10 and later)

From what i've seen that is no longer possible if you use xorg 1.16 & logind .
I don't know if logind can be disabled when booting with systemd, but if you boot with another PID1 then systemd logind doesn't function AT ALL.

wich is a good thing, because then Xorg simply works the old way! At least here . (without further config)

Using systemd and Xwrapper.config doesn't really work here either, but I'm really not interested in debugging this. (It seems its trying to start X as root but then it's still using systemd-logind somehow...)

So the only reliable alternatives I see are:
1) Log in on the vt you want to start X and start it from there.
2) Use another init system. (Or then as mentioned trying to disable systemd-logind, which I doubt is possible.)
