If I do sudo rmmod button, I get the following error:

rmmod: ERROR: Module button is in use by: i915

And I can't remove i915 hmm


Well, today 4.5 came out and the lidstate is still broken. I didn't apply rgomes patch because I patiently waited for the 4.5. But it didn't worked. I'll just jump to the patch like rgomes mentioned before.

Any new ideas?

Confirmed. I have lid switch broken too. Linux 4.5.2, Asus eee pc 1005 pxd.  Downgrading kernel to 4.4.5 solve the problem. This problem kernel since version 4.5.x. How can i trace this trouble? Sorry for my English.

Try using rgomes patch.

Upgrading kernel to 4.5.3-1 solve my problem. This problem appears periodically.
