Re: Installation Tutorial

Thanks for the details. I have updated the partition section in the beginning accordingly and added a note to inform the user with some more details.

Updates:
- Added note about separate esp.
- Changed the background for the standalone HTML as it is also used for creating the PDF. It now has a white background, just in case if you print out the PDF your printer wont accidentally waste color on the background.

Re: Installation Tutorial

Hi,

It is a nice effort to provide a beginner tutorial. I do suggest though that you include links to relevant Arch wiki pages. For example, the sections on booting, networking, packer should include links that encourage Arch users to learn about their systems. Especially something like packer...without learning about the AUR the user is asking for trouble down the road. Nicely done tutorial, it can embody the Arch way moreso with suggestions for further reading.

Re: Installation Tutorial

Page Update:

- Added a preface to Installing base system
- Spiked the tutorial with links to corresponding pages in the arch wiki to encourage further research
- Minor changes like an additional warning concerning the AUR in Installing xorg page (including honorary reference to bomi player as a AUR package example since the creator took the time to implement some of my crazy feature requests smile)

As these are static html pages a page refresh might be necessary to see the changes.

Re: Installation Tutorial

Since making the tutorial I have reinstalled without a separate efi partition. It has been pointed out earlier in this thread that a separate efi partition is not recommended in the arch wiki so I wanted to make sure everything works fine. It has not been as straight forward to do it this way as I expected. At least with GRUB. So, I added it to the tutorial just in case. I thought it's sufficient to update the "Base Install" section in the tutorial. I added "Configure Bootloader Without Separate EFI Partition" to the tutorial because that's where I got unexpected complications. Just figured since I posted about the tutorial I let you know.
