@ iBertus: my x700 works very well in normal X, not much luck with xgl at this time though..

@rezza: thanks for that tip....now i know what my next project will be big_smile

i'll post a screenie soon i swear... i'm just working from a diff hd in my laptop right now. my nice linux desktop is on the hd sitting upside down about 4 inches from my keyboard right now :oops:

edit: wow.. drop shadows were so easy :oops:  :oops: , too bad the x700 drivers dont support exa and "backingstore" "true" doesnt do much to help transparent windows, oh well... transparency never was one of my favorite things anyways...
