Trying out those icons cimi kindly linked us to.

Hey, how did you remove the text label from under the Thunar buttons? I found nothing in Thunar or thunarrc  sad

That's not controlled by thunar, that's in your gtk preferences. If you run gnome (or gnome-settings-daemon) you can set it up in the options somewhere, if you run xfce you can set it up in (i think) the gui preferences setings panel, if you don't run gnome or xfce or either of their settings daemons, then just add the following line to a gtkrc file (like ~/.gtkrc-2.0 or ~/.gtkrc.mine):

gtk-toolbar-style=GTK_TOOLBAR_ICONS

Worked like a charm, thanks a lot!

Openbox and some "eye candy" stuff (adesklet, conky).

Can you tell me how you got conky to display the clock like that?  I know someone posted it in last months thread but the thread seems to have been deleted.

Thanks,
Joe

Ooh, nice FVWM configuration. Could you slap a tarball of it up somewhere, I might see how I can get along with FVWM if it has a nice theme like that. ^^

The default setup is a little different but it's pretty easy to get to this minimal look. And it requires 2.5.16 (fvwm-devel from unstable).
