Wombat... Switched shortly after it was released (saw the notification on distrowatch I think...)
Installed it, and never looked back.
As with some other people, I've seen an installiation screen once. Maybe twice.. I think I scratched it once because I didn't have high-speed and needed to download a GUI.

I started with 0.5 Nova. Still remember the old website...

Started with Widget but it scared me. Then I tried Wombat but it reminded me of Widget. Next I installed Noodle and gave up soon afterwards. Then I tried Noodle again and decided to stick with it no matter what. After a while I found that it had stuck to me.

Started with Wombat after trying out topologilinux. That distro could install in win without format. A few days later I looked for a 'proper' distro and was recommended arch from a mate. I gave it a shot and I never felt the need to try another distro. Arch suits all my needs, and I enjoy using it. What more could you want

First post, I'm coming from Gentoo. Still have Gentoo running for MythTV.
Started with 0.7.1 and I'm still on the Arch honeymoon as I've only been running this for less than a week. Decided to try it after reading a nice article in Linux Format (or maybe Linux Pro) magazine.

Nova or Widget, can't remember which. I was a gentoo user at the time, arch was only on a secondary box (i think that box still has arch on it, I gave it to a friend), but I liked it, and when I fancied trying something new again fairly recently (6 months or so ago I suppose) I opted for arch on my main box.

I am retired from AT&T, so I started using Unix in 1976 or 1977 at work. The first Linux I installed on my PC was Red Hat 6.something. I wanted something closer to what I was using at work instead of Windows.
I did a lot of distro hopping, but kept coming back to Red Hat / Fedora. I installed Widget the first time I installed Arch. I soon went back to Fedora. However, Fedora just wasn't the same after trying Arch. The second time I installed Arch, Wombat had just come out. I have been using Arch ever since, Arch stopped my distro hopping.
I lurked around the Forums for a long time. The Arch documentation, Wikis, and forums are good enough that they answered my questions without having to post. The Arch community is another great reason for using Arch.

I -think- I started with Widget. Atleast Wombat was released shortly after.

Widget or Wombat,I forget.
Then I tried ubuntu because of the file sharing with windows(at that time I didn't even know what samba was and ubuntu worked without any additional configuration). But after about half a month I returned to arch and I've never left again.

Downloaded wombat, installed that.
Then downloaded the noodle pre release for some reason a couple of weeks later. Good times since then.

I thought Nova brought archlinux to limelight. (Another bullschildt by distrowatch.) It looks like the widget users were the ones to stay

My first arch experience was with Noodle. It has been about 2 months ago I think
.
That's pretty much the same for me, I've been using Noodle since early April. I was typically a Gentoo user, haven't looked back.
