However, to be 100% sure, Remus, if you could post the content of your logind.conf file here that would help.

Thanks a lot once again for your continued help here!
I'll try xfce and see what it does there.

Thanks, all's well there. That seems to conclusively rule out logind being the culprit. So I'd second your conclusion of post #13 that this is a Gnome issue. Unfortunately I'm completely unable to help gnome-specific stuff.

Just tried out logging in with an Xfce session instead of (normal) Gnome. There, the key didn't do anything – one point more for Gnome-specific, I guess. (I didn't change the display manager or anything else this time – just installed Xfce and then selected it in the session menu.)

You can disable suspend system-wide with polkit: https://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/Po … _hibernate
I still don't know how to do it only for gnome or only for suspend button.

Thanks for sharing, though as this thread is 2 years old, the same assumptions might no longer apply.

Wow, thanks!
It's not exactly what I asked for, but since I don't want to use Suspend/Hibernate anyways, this is still a perfect solution for me!
So, thanks a lot!
And thanks, V1del, for re-opening!
