I have updated the baytrail kernels linux-baytrail48 and linux-baytrail48 in the aur.
On my Baytrail Tablet there are no freezes anymore. Also it feels faster in gnome3 (lagged like hell)

Thank you very much! I was considering different options to get you back to work on those PKGBUILDS, including flattery, but patience turned out to be the right way.

So nice, that a very great work (as it seems to be). Thank you !
I only have Mika patch on my custom kernel and it freeze sometimes. I'm going to install your kernel and i will let you know how it's going.
I have checked commits on your git but i'm not sure about something : Did you commit some wifi patches ?

My convertible ran fine yesterday, but it was frozen when I woke it up from Plasma induced sleep this morning. That's a tiny nuisance, compared to the constant freezes before.

I tried muhviehstarr kernel a little bit.
I have to use it more to tell you if it's relevant or not.
Yesterday i started my computer on this kernel and it frozen right after the desktop was loaded.
c6state is on.
I'm using mostly a kernel patched with this : Avoid tweaking evaluation thresholds : https://bugzilla.kernel.org/attachment. … ction=edit
Still c6state on and very few freeze. However, I can trigger freeze mostly while watching video on youtube or when upgrading my system with pacman -Syu
We should all sell our baytrail based computers >_<

i have updated linux-baytrail49 to 4.9.13 and added some patches for hardware support (from asus transformer thread)
i will test some other patches to get rid of the suspend blackscreens that have appeared .
But first i will test the latest 4.11 rc1 Kernel. Some Uses reported that the newer Kernels minimize their freezes. linux-baytrail11 and linux-baytrail10 will be available later .
Anyone tested sound support with an baytrail tablet?

Currently building, I'll test it tomorrow morning. I'm also curious about the notorious problem with Baytrail + SDHX cards, maybe they'll work now.

the 8723bs driver seems to have some troubles with 4.11-rc1
4.10.1 works fine. i have to change the wifi driver from r8723bs to 8723bs later. this one is works better : https://github.com/muhviehstah/rtl8723bs (except for 4.11 - doesnt compile )
please give linux-baytrail410 a testrun i also added webcam devices & i2c drivers to the config
edit : precompiled packages for 4.10.1 : https://github.com/muhviehstah/linux-ba … tag/4.10.1. remove the .zip . github doesnt allow .xz files

Your "linux-baytrail410" produces on my box:

I'm confused. The description says it has the 8723bs, but I still need to compile it myself (or use your dkms package).
Skip this for now, I haven't tried the new package yet.

@Awebb i have added both wifi drivers in the new 4.10.6 package.

I just want to point out something from bugzilla :
https://bugzilla.kernel.org/show_bug.cgi?id=109051
--- Comment #760 from jbMacAZ (jbmacbrodie@yahoo.com) ---
The good news is that 4.11-rc4 has the v3 patch built in. The bad news for me
is that my build hard froze within 5 minutes on Mint 18.1. The original patch
can't be used anymore because some of the code it modified was rewritten.
"Delightfully unstable" T100CHI - Z3775.
Update: 4.11-rc4 with intel_idle.max_cstate=2 froze in about 20 minutes. I'll
retest when -rc5 comes out.
BTW I have been running 4.9.8 with v3 patch for weeks and have experiencing a few freeze issues (but still happen).
I have not tryed again your custom kernel.

Your 4.10.6 PKGBUILD runs into an error:

Use LC_ALL=C right before you cmd line to display the original text (english). I personally use an alias in my bashrc as "alias english='LC_ALL=C'" (the term is not correct but scratch lang is always english).
EDIT : I just realized you may have encounter this message after a long wait... And you already know what I told you xD

Let's say the error message would have been very clear even without a translation, it's very specific. In addition, I suspect "muhviehstarr" might be German or at least speak German.

That's weird and I'm not sure why, but wifi has started working on its own on muhviehstarr's 4.11.rc4-1. I'm a bit puzzled, because it didn't work initially. I ignored the laptop for a couple of days, now it magically works. #justbaytrailthings?

As mentioned in a previous post rc4 may cause trouble and it would be smarter to wait for rc5 just to be sure.
We can't really know what happened to you, even more cause it's WiFi. It's too much random and strange.

Next time the thing freezes, try switching to a TTY (Ctrl-Alt-F#), I didn't see you mention that, so maybe the machine isn't frozen and just X is. This is just basic stuff you didn't mention, like the microcode.
The next step would be to filter the journal (journalctl), dmesg and the xorg log file for the times before and after your freezes and see if it tells you anything.
that does not help , I cannot switch to TTY , It freezes completely and if tried to close the process say terminal the screen blackouts ,nothing appears even after waiting for half hour . I had to hard restart my laptop.
after restarting at the last, the o/p of : journalctl -b-1
i got this error :
ACPI: Skipping parse of AML opcode: Method (0x0014)
Oct 10 00:38:57 user kernel: ACPI BIOS Error (bug): Failure creating named object [\_SB.PCI0.XHC.RHUB.HS13._UPC], AE_ALREADY_EXISTS (20210604/dswload2-326)

This thread is 4½ years old…
Please don't necrobump. Open a new thread, describe your symptoms as detailed as possible and post the entire journal for the freezing boot. (The ACPI error is very most likely insignificant)
