the question was whether there was an i3lock process when resuming and before any log-in attempts (as you claimes i3lock wasn't showing) and you obviously did not understand the switches "your" script passed to i3lock, but let's forget about this...

The idea that I'm being offensive is a misconception
I was merely warning you that running a very basic WM setup on a distribution like arch without a solid experience in how to deal with such system will cause you lots of troubles. You will run into problem after problem and have to seek for help - and questions like "with fork you mean i should modify i3lock to my suggested needs" after being told to fork a process can easily get you "you're using the wrong distro" here.
Please just take this as a kind advice that you need to level up in order to survive in this environment.

believe it or not i already had bigger problems with "much easier to use" distros...

i just don't know every technical term in english as you may guess i'm not a native speaker...
