That's not a usable problem description. What "didn't work fine"? mandb (at least the service,  topic of this thread) is not supposed to be run by an unprivileged user.

sudo effectively turns you into root, so that's not significant.

@Seth Sorry for the vague statement.
I mean, when I run the man command as the root user, it displays all the man pages fine, but when I try to run the command (for example, man gz) as a normal user, the man-db coredump messages comes out.
Am I going off topic?

Why do you get a man-db coredump when calling man?
What is the actual input and output?
