Issue seem to be fixed for me. Steam sometimes hangs for a little while but then recovered and repaints its window as it should.

Interestingly enough, I just upgraded everything to the latest versions and I can't replicate the issue. I wonder if the issue is that mesa-18.0.3-4 was maybe compiled against the older 1.19 xorg-server libraries instead of the 1.20 version. Best guess: the update to mesa-18.0.4-1 resolved the issue due to this even though the patch in question appeared to be part of the 18.0.3-4 release.
I'll keep an eye on things tonight and see if the issue doesn't rear it's ugly head again. Still I was able to replicate this at will over the weekend even after a reboot and cannot seem to do so now.

Not sure what update exactly made it work but for me it's working fine now…

Sadly, unless I downgrade xorg-server, then xrandr is still crashing:
~$ xrandr --output eDP-1 --auto --primary --output HDMI-1 --auto --same-as eDP-1
xrandr: Configure crtc 1 failed
~$Note, I am no longer using xf86-video-intel

Et voilà, elle arrive. La pièce, le sous, peut-être qu'il arrive avec vous!

Then it's likely unrelated to the issue at hand here, nase can you mark as [SOLVED] if the original issue with steam is fixed?

I had issues with xorg-server 1.20 and setting a monitor as primary. Does the command work without --primary?

Sadly, no. Even more annoying, xorg-server has just been updated to 1.20.0-5 with no resolution to my xrandr problem.
