Hey. I have a fresh install of arch running. First thing I did was set up xorg using xorg-server package, grab plasma, kde-applications and fish.
After enabling the sddm.service with systemd it hangs after this is displayed :
[0.191152] Error parsing PCC subspaces for PCCT
[0.230235] ACPI Error : Needed type [Reference], found [Integer] (ptr val blah blah blah)
(two more acpi errors, something to do with battery I think? ) ..
starting version 238
Hangs on that last line. It does eventually get to the display manager, but I have to wait around two minutes. I don't experience this issue with lightdm. Just sddm.

Please post the system's dmesg.

If you start the system with sddm enabled instead of lightdm and randomly press keys after the kernel starts loading does the time until sddm is reached decrease?

Yeah actually. What's up with that?

Enabling haveged as a service works. But it seems like a really hacky solution. So we're waiting on an updated kernel then?

Yes but what form the kernel fix will take or when it will be implemented is unknown.

Alright. Appreciate the help.
Solution to this problem :
sudo pacman -S haveged
sudo systemctl enable haveged.service
