Pikaur Unable to install AUR packages

As the title states I am unable to install it when I ran sudo pikaur -Syu

This is the error that gets flagged:

an't clone 'dxvk-win32-bin, dxvk-win64-bin' in '/root/.local/share/pikaur/aur_repos/dxvk-bin' from AUR:

Running as unit: run-u266.service
fatal: could not create leading directories of '/root/.local/share/pikaur/aur_repos/dxvk-bin': Permission denied
Finished with result: exit-code
Main processes terminated with: code=exited/status=128
Service runtime: 30ms

Any help is greatly appreciated!

Re: Pikaur Unable to install AUR packages

Why are you running an AUR helper with sudo to root?

Re: Pikaur Unable to install AUR packages

Hmm I was under the impression the aur helper would be treased (command syntax) like pacman?

Thank you that was it you're the best guess I leaned something new today!

Re: Pikaur Unable to install AUR packages

Probably because pikaur is noteworthy (in a bad way) as the only AUR helper to implement and loudly advertise:

pikaur readme wrote:

Notable features:

  • using systemd dynamic users if building packages as root user

There is no telling what this madness might result in.

AUR helpers in theory have a responsibility to act as a good example and thus display valuable leadership to the less experienced community of users in general. Unfortunately some developers of AUR helpers have incredibly bad taste.
