i'm not sure about the compiz stuff.. didn't want to ask too much of poor gnome at this point having a hacked 2.16 and compiz as well might be overload who knows haha. if it was me i'd say rebuild the libwnck-compiz-quinn package with the new 2.16 libwnck using the quinn patches.
Update: repos now added for i686 and x86_64. See main post for address.

I had it workign for couple of minutes, that is compiz + gnome 2.16, but i restarted to make sure everything was in order, and now when i load gnome the panels dont load complete, the desktop doesnt have any icons, and seems very unstable. Any tips on how to fix this? I even tried making a new user account and loading gnome from there, just in case it was broken config files...
Any ideas?

karsten wrote:in pacman.conf put
IgnorePkg = libwnck
and that should take care of it
I did not install libwnck from offical repo,just is libwnck-2.16.0,but after it had installed ,pacman can't detect.
dbus's PKGBUILD :
source=(http://dbus.freedesktop.org/releases/${pkgname}-${pkgver}.tar.gz
dbus)
change to :
source=(http://dbus.freedesktop.org/releases/dbus/${pkgname}-${pkgver}.tar.gz
dbus)we need a new package-> dbus-glib:
http://dbus.freedesktop.org/releases/db … .71.tar.gz
i made the packages.
in my repo http://www.fobos.org.ar/archlinux/ u will get:
dbus-glib-0.71-1
dbus-0.92-1
libwnck-2.16.0-1 (for i686)
you only need to add a simbolic link :
ln -s /usr/lib/libdbus-1.so.3.0.0 /usr/lib/libdbus-1.so.2
until karsten recompile against dbus 0.92
cheers and enjoy gnome-power-manager

my server is online again

for dbus-glib http://aur.archlinux.org/packages.php?d … hans=&SeB=
and for dbus you have to download the PKGBUILD from extra and change the version to 0.92 and change the md5sum.. if this doesn't work for you i will publish the PKGBUILD.
cheers..

Hi,
I discoverd some problems with the gnome-volume-manager, when i power on my usb2 storage device.
Nautilus and one of my panels hang,
but i could restart hal an get them back to life. Is there an HAL
version problem eventually ?
Edit: After restarting HAL , i can unplug/plug the storage, without nautilus errors, but when i try to unmount over gui, i get some strange "you aren't root" errors, i tryed to unmount manually with pumount and have no problems with it. Any Ideas ?

do you have orbit2 installed? that file is contained in there. install it from pacman and see if that works.

first don't modify pacman.conf and do a
# pacman -S xorg gnome gnome-extras
then add the repo to pacman.conf and do a
# pacman -Syu
see if that works.

Epiphany crash with libdbus-glib-1.so.2

@EricNeon: I think that's because it's not compiled against dbus 0.92 and/or dbus-glib 0.71.
Karsten: could you add these packages to your repo and recompile against them? :smile:
