Re: Won't shut down

Well, tpetersohn over at my other thread on linux.org manged to find the magical BIOS setting. https://www.linux.org/threads/lg-gram-1 … ost-100278. The setting is "Enable the iTBT PCIe on Extra Segment," in the Intel Advanced Menu (use ctrl+alt+F7 to find it). I still hope to isolate which patch first caused the issue, but I'm glad a fix was found.

Re: Won't shut down

Did you try installing the 5.4 version of linux from the ALA and did that work?

Re: Won't shut down

I didn't try installing 5.4 because I couldn't get it to build as a result of the "yyloc" error, even after your updated PKBUILD. I installed the latest version of Arch as an .iso file from the downloads page to indirectly verify that the BIOS setting fixed my laptop's compatibility with newer versions of Linux.

P.S. to other Gram users, tpetersohn mentioned some other BIOS tweaks that you may be interested in to eliminate all potential errors (see them in the linked thread).

Re: Won't shut down

The ALA is an archive of official Arch packages so it is prebuilt.

pacman -U https://archive.archlinux.org/packages/l/linux/linux-5.4.15.arch1-1-x86_64.pkg.tar.zst
