Re: Nvidia Driver causing input output error

I also tried putting unigine valley on a flashdrive and running that but still the ssd had the same error...

The OS is still running there and the drive is mounted (unlike, I assume, in your initial Mint test?)

Unless the SMART data is somehow garbled, there're 3505 power cycles in 8h, that's every 8 seconds…!
I'm pretty sure the system doesn't provide enough power to the drive when the GPU is on max load.

Do you have other power consumers in the system that you could remove for a test?

Re: Nvidia Driver causing input output error

Hmm...
currently I'm using nouveau drivers on the low clock stage.
If I take it higher it'll error out on running games and such.

Nvidia driver automatically increase the clock stage when required...
Is there a way to set it so that it is always on power saving mode?
atleast I'll get better performance

Re: Nvidia Driver causing input output error

The ability and how to manipulate the clock depends on the actual chip, but see eg. https://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/NV … _TDP_Limit
