Gnome with MurrinaGrassAncient GTK theme, Dejavu Sans (size 8) font, Tango icons, and Clearbox-out metacity theme (modified to remove hideous yellow pressed buttons, not visible in screenshot). I like the look, but I'll have to make some changes unfortunately... every time I use Metacity it insists upon obnoxiously reminding me what an absolute piece of crap it is.

I don't like too much clutter, so it's pretty simple, but nice looking.

KDE 3.5.5
Beryl 0.1.2 with orangelook Emerald theme
Ubuntu Human color scheme
Orange Tango icons
Kelly Clarkson wallpaper

Nothing special.

Maybe someone can tell me how better to pimp out my openbox?

My wife would love that wallpaper.

I used openbox before, but it started crashing on me recently. I switched back to ion3 but I haven't worked out all the kinks in my configs yet. I tried ratpoison too. A little too mouse-unfriendly for me just yet. I suppose if I used ratpoison, I'd become a better typist, but if I use ion, maybe it will help me learn lua.

That's just a fullscreen terminal running screen - it's doable in any WM, really, though I use ratpoison.  All my configs are available at http://phraktured.net/configs/

I can't find your configs at that location:

Where should I look? My searches have been unsuccessful.

Actually not really, it's a 933Mhz G4 iBook with 640MB RAM running ArchPPC. The MOL instance runs with 256MB while altogether it's like 350MB real ram usage with thunderbird started.  The whole thing runs in dual head mode with mergefb on a radeon 9200 while osx runs in fullscreen on the second head. smile

Re: November 2006 Screenshots

How do you change second monitor's wallpaper ? I've always had problems with the second monitor view on my laptop. Sometimes I need to show something on the projector but when I change the wallpaper, both sides changes.. LeftOf and RightOf are also sometimes suck.. sad

use DISPLAY=":0.1"  value of variable before run your wallpaper changer /*if you use console tool or script liked config file /*if you need i may get you links to configure this on gentoo /*in Arch it worked also*/*/ */

I'm using GNOME and its wallpaper changer.. So do I still have a chance ?

Re: November 2006 Screenshots

Well, I've been messing around with ruby-wmii for the past couple of days, and it's very nice for the most part. It doesn't behave well on a twinview setup, and I'm not able to watch a movie fullscreen without the title bar, but I suppose that's not it's design purpose (unless there's a workaround I don't know about). A nice, wide 21"+ lcd would be fantastic with wmii.  big_smile

By the way, I just set up the 3 colums for the screenshot...the center column is split right down the middle on my two monitors, so you can imagine what that looks like, and how unusable it is.
