Re: [Solved] Xorg High CPU Usage when using External Display

Well, what can one do. So I guess for now just using the dgpu to render everything when I have the external display connected is the best that we can do. Thanks again for all the help.

Re: [Solved] Xorg High CPU Usage when using External Display

Hello, i have similar problem. I have NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3050 Ti Laptop GPU and intel uhd integrated card. And when i use external monitor with internal (external + internal) i got 20-30% CPU utilization from /usr/lib/Xorg :0 , but when i turn off external monitor (or i turn off internal) i got 0.7% CPU utilization. So, i have problem only when i use multimonitor configuration. I switch to by xrandr. For example, i start my laptop with inseted hdmi cable, after i enter to lightdm i login to i3wm and run "xrandr --auto && xrandr --output eDP1 --auto --below HDMI-1-0" and i got 20-30% cpu usage. But when i turn off everything is ok. For example, after "xrandr --output HDMI-1-0 --off" -> cpu go to 0.7%.
