How do I apply it automatically as shown here? Do I have to make a separate PKGBUILD? I know I can edit manually but I would like to learn how I would make a script build.

For just a one-line change, it seems pointless to script it, but if you had to, then a shell script with sed would make more sense than a PKGBUILD.

I could imagine PKGBUILDS are for large patches to the actual kernel itself, not the PKGBUILD itself! I feel like an idiot, if you are providing a custom PKGBUILD then why not just edit it yourself? Why make ANOTHER pkgbuild just to modify the first! (If at all possible due to conflicts in file names) Thanks though, I suppose I need a long nights sleep after this (significant) mental blunder, and hopefully it should be compiled on my potato by morning. Thanks again!

You can script a kernel build if you want. See https://hg.sr.ht/~jasonwryan/shiv/brows … el?rev=tip

So this automatically builds you a Kernel? How is it different from this?

It just automates a traditional kernel build. All the files are here: https://hg.sr.ht/~jasonwryan/shiv/brows … es?rev=tip

Seems useful, i'll consider checking it out. A few customization options that seem interesting.
