According to dell that's HDMI 1.4b and the standard as well as the IGP is perfectly cabable of the offered 1440p (let alone on reduced blanking)
Possible problems:
1. cable
2. cable
3. cable
4. The output (monitor) itself
5. cable
6. BIOS bug
7. cable
8. cable
9. cable
Neither 1,2,3,4,5,7,8,9.
Only 6 or an intentional disabling in the BIOS itself.
I've already tried different cables and bypassed the KVM switch.
Besides I have two 32" monitors (2560x1440) and my Windows 10 desktop machine which I switch with the Arch Linux laptop displays fine at that resolution through the KVM switch.
Also, like I said previously, when I had a 4K work laptop which I also connected through the KVM with the same cables, I also go the 2560x1440 on both monitors.
