ok so I've tried for a bit the different stuff and settings on tuxclocker and none of them seem to work, I even got a white screen at some point while modifying pstates and during it I could move so I went to the part of the screen in the website and still got a black screen through the white screen which canceled it then my computer crashed my computer crash
modifiying the clock voltages in mV, the power limit in Watts, and the core and memory clocks in MHz had absolutely no effect and the modifying the pstates made my computer crash more than anything
I also discovered while testing stuff that hiding the menu bar (bar at the top of the screen with File, Edit, etc) on icecat stopped the black screens but they still appear on other navigators (and I'd guess games too) so it doesn't resolve my problem
It's kinda like at the start when I hid the dwm bar in the video, it seems like when the window goes to a certain height, it can show up black screens under certain circumstances or something, this is really weird

Do you have spare monitors and cables that you could test the behavior against?

well I just tried on a graphic tablet since that's the only spare screen I have and I got no black screen on it which makes me think that maybe I have a problem with the DVI cable of my screen, but I dont have a spare HDMI cable long enough to try for now
I really don't think it's a hardware problem but I'll see...

How long is that in meters (sigh… or feet ;-) and do you have the option to use a shorter cable by moving the monitor and computer closer to each other?
To me, what you encounter is a signal loss - we don't know the reason, but physical decay or interference being too much™ for some signal patterns could very well be it.
Edit: you could also test the output at 1600x900 and see whether the issue remains.

ok, sooo, I actually got to try using an hdmi cable and I DON'T HAVE THE BLACK SCREENS ANYMORE WOOOOO (as far as I can tell), I guess my DVI cable has a problem or something but that's alright, I also checked if it was my screen configuration (cause I tuned down the brightness and added some red) but it wasn't that.
I'm kind of tired of all of these shenanigans and I think I'll just search in my cave if I have an hdmi cable laying around, or I'll just buy a new one and close this discussion, thank you so much for the help (I must've been very annoying but I'm kinda new to linux sorry), I guess I learned a few things too so, again, THANK YOU !
TL:DR if someone has the same problem:
-check your graphic drivers
-try changing the resolution of your screen
-try underclocking your gpu and cpu
-check your cables (DVI and HDMI)

Still #1: it's always the cable…
Please always remember to mark resolved threads by editing your initial posts subject - so others will know that there's no task left, but maybe a solution to find.
Thanks.
