Hey loqs, how can I do this for zen kernel?
See the link in post #10 to get the PKGBUILD and config for linux-zen
https://github.com/archlinux/svntogit-p … nfig#L5055 change that line to CONFIG_I8K=y
Then follow the instructions from 2.3 onward.

Hi loqs, thanks a lot for the quick reply. I'm not sure if I'll be able to follow those steps without making mistakes since I'm still a newbie. I guess I should just wait for the fix in the upcoming kernel update. I'm just using lts kernel for now.

Hi loqs,
I tried your kernel and that indeed did the trick. Would it be possible for you to help me with building for zen kernel? I really want to fix this issue but am too afraid to take a chance since I'm not experienced when it comes to dealing with kernel. I would appreciate it very much if you can walk me through this. Thank you in advance.

Hi there,
For those interested to build the kernel with the CONFIG_I8K options, i've made a script so you can easily build it yourself: https://github.com/bguerout/alkb
Note that i've already added the i8k option to config file so you just need to clone the project, run make command and install the packages

An alternative solution:
I am now using the `fancontrol` utility (and the `fancontrol.services`) from package `lm_sensors`. It has been working fine so far for the 2019 Dell XPS 13. See https://wiki.archlinux.org/title/Fan_sp … m-sensors) for configuration.
