SUMMARY so far.... I still haven't managed to boot into any linux install. Only a few distros will actually boot from the USB and install. All are Arch based, which suits me fine. But none will boot after install.
My basic options are to enable Secure Boot and get an Invalid Signature error, or disable SB and get a black screen immediately after selecting the boot option.
I think I've honed in on where the solution might be found, but it could get messy quickly, so a bit of guidance would be great before I embark on a massive time-wasting exercise.

Could you try disabling S MODE (you'll need to temporary reinstall Win11)?
There's no charge to switch out of S mode, but you won't be able to turn it back on.
