Re: [solved] How to remove screen tearing?

That's what I'm saying, yes.

FWIW there's a very recent merge request pending for the xorg server that will introduce TearFree in the modesetting driver: https://gitlab.freedesktop.org/xorg/xse … uests/1006 which will hopefully alleviate all potential usecases people might have for xf86-video-intel

That said, with your current constellation and KWin configured as such do you have tearing on the modesetting driver? That would be surprising and out of the ordinary.

V1del, please help me: I should try uninstalling xf86-video-intel, removing /etc/X11/xorg.conf.d/20-intel.conf, reboot and only enable Tearing prevention ("vsync"): Full screen repaints in Plasma? Did I understand correctly, or am I missing some steps?

Good catch V1del! cool Removed xf86-video-intel and /etc/X11/xorg.conf.d/20-intel.conf: can confirm I have NO screen tearing anymore! wink (plus, with modesetting audio is properly working always, regardless the Screen Resolution)

Re: [solved] How to remove screen tearing?

Let me say some things:
- I moved from my old laptop, now I have an AMD laptop, 5000 gen.
- I use hyprland now, with wayland, and I do have tearing, but im OK with that.
- The reason for this OG topic is because of the lower input lag benefits I wanted without tearing and linux, I guess I didn't like it.
Sorry for necroposting guys, love you all <3

Postdata:
Windows didn't had support for OpenGL 3.3, but on linux there was support, so I struggled but changed to Arch Linux because why not :^)
