As written in the initial post, by chance the system did not boot returning the root mounting error: mount: /new_root: unknow filesystem type 'ntfs', the problem was due to the efi partition formatted in fat32 which contained the refind bootloader. trying to set UUID or PARTUUID didn't work, so I decided to set refind_linux.conf refind.conf /dev/nvme0n1p2 which is the partition containing initramfs and vmlinuz and as if by magic now I don't get that problem anymore, I compile the kernel I use manually and are at version 6.2.1.
