Update to 6.5-rc1 and apply proposed fix from https://bugzilla.kernel.org/show_bug.cgi?id=217622 for the iwlwifi crash

focusing on the original question (and iwlwifi still blacklisted): still getting the flip_done error using the 6.5-rc kernel
interestingly it always seems to work initially, but launching streams in firefox leads triggers the error after a few minutes

With disabled compositor i don't get error.
You could try to replicate it
1. w/ a disabled compositor, https://wiki.archlinux.org/title/Xfwm#Composite_manager and
2. w/ only one output attached (ie. w/o the HDMI monitor)

Despite the current kernel and the second output?
Does it happen w/ picom?

With the current kernel (6.4.4), the second output and without picom.

The idea was to see whether picom (on either the xrender or glx backend, maybe depending on vsync) triggers the same error as the xfwm4 compositor.

I installed picom and got same error http://0x0.st/HL8-.txt.

Was that picom w/o w/o client-side vsync (either through glx or glx+xrender)?

I'm having the same issue, randomly, usually twice or thrice a day. Most of the time desktop is recoverable with unrawing and alt+F1, but sometimes I need to REISUB my laptop. Issue occurs on 6.4.10.arch1-1 kernel and 6.5.0-rc2-1-drm-next-git-ga8b273a8fd9c as well. I have i915.enable_psr=0

I'm experiencing the same issue on my HP EliteBook 840 14 inch G9. Did you ever get this sorted?
