I have managed to compile 6.5.5 kernel with this patch and I can confirm it solved the issue. I can now change into any advertised resolution with xrandr.
I ll mark this as solved for now!

6.5.x is a mess for me as well. Did you manage to fix it? I had to roll back to LTS (6.1.x) to get the system working without the constant freezes. I also have Radeon graphics (AMD Ryzen 7 5825U with Radeon Graphics).
