Disabling archival redirections

Many articles of old software or old advice are archived. This is understandable.

My suggestion is instead of redirecting to ArchWiki:Archive, do this instead:

1. clear the content of the original page
2. insert the intro stated in ArchWiki:Archive
3. explain why the page was archived or why the software was deprecated.
4. explain alternative software or articles to the archived one

Example: upower is an archived page, but as a user wanting to learn more about it, the redirection is not helpful. It would make more sense if the article explained these four things I listed.

Sure, the user can manually go to article history or see the discussion page, but why go through this instead of summarizing the current state of the topic?

Re: Disabling archival redirections

The discussion and decision need to happen on the wiki. In this case, this talk page is suitable: https://wiki.archlinux.org/title/ArchWi … nance_Team
